Operating System Rebuilds/Upgrades

Repairing or Upgrading an Operating System can be a frustrating ordeal. Rebuilding or Upgrading is a very good option if you are having issues/problems with your current OS or you have software that only runs on a higher OS.

Leave it to us to rebuild/upgrade your machine to a new Operating System. We will install a fresh copy of the Operating System, NOT a upgrade of the OS where problems that you had before can crop up again.

Here is a brief description of the included services in our OS rebuild/upgrade package.

  • Transfer all files to new machine (this is discussed individually)
  • Load the new OS from a fresh build, no upgrade from one OS to another; this is a fresh build so none of your problems carry over.
  • Move the user files back over
  • Run full diagnostics on the machine after the rebuild to see if there are any hardware/software problems.
  • Configure all hardware drivers for the new Operating System.
  • Upgrade the Operating System with any Service Packs/Critical updates that Microsoft has put out.
  • Install and Configure the Anti-Virus along with downloading the updated .dat files. A/V updates.

SpyWare/Virus Cleanup 

SpyWare and Viruses are more and more common in this day and age. Both can bring all of the resources to a halt on your system causing the computer to respond very slowly. We will clean your PC of unwanted advertisements, popup programs, malware, and privacy-invasive cookies along with showing you how to prevent these attacks in the future.

General Network / Server / Desktop / Laptop troubleshooting

Are you stuck at a problem with your Network or machine at home? E-mail Reston Computer and we will give you a free quote and some suggestions over the phone. Don’t pay for expensive calls to manufacturer's helpdesks. We charge a flat hourly fee for onsite troubleshooting and will give you all the information up front.

Installation of new machine / transfer of files, email & settings from old machine 

Ordering or buying a new machine is the easy part, moving your files, email and settings from your old machine to your new one is not. We will setup and configure your new machine for the internet along with transferring all the data from the older machine over. Leave the hassle to us.
